Another major sporting event at a Colosseo showroom venue - ISU European Figure Skating Championships 2016

January 29, 2016 - Bratislava, Slovakia

After 15 years, the European figure-skating elite will again come to Bratislava. Ondrej Nepela stadium, the first major Colosseo reference, will host the ISU European Figure Skating Championships 2016 from January 27. – 31. Over the 5 days, spectators will enjoy a unique experience of the competition including women’s singles, men’s singles, ice dancing and pair skating. The entire event will culminate with the traditional Gala Exhibition.

Ondrej Nepela stadium, formerly Slovnaft Arena, is one of the first and most comprehensive Colosseo installations. In 2011, just months before the first major sporting event – IIHF World Championship in Ice Hockey, the stadium was equipped with Colosseo’s custom-designed centre hung video board, surrounded by the world’s first double sided LED space ring and controlled by the Colosseo Single Media Platform.

Also, in order to increase fan safety, Colosseo installed a biometric face recognition and access control system that has full control over who enters the arena and the ability to deny access to unwanted persons. The arena was declared as one the safest venues in the entire KHL.
Over the years, the arena has received exceptionally positive fan feedback and has hosted many major events like the NHL premier challenge in 2011, KHL All Star Game 2014, concerts with likes of Elton John, Beyonce, Kylie Minogue, Roxette, Depeche mode, etc.

The ISU European Figure Skating Championships 2016 is another major sporting event added to the arena's collection and the Colosseo support team will insure a seamless and smooth operation.
