EHF European Men's Handball Championship is taking place at the Colosseo operated Tauron Arena in Krakow
January 25, 2016 - Krakow, Poland
Tauron Arena in Krakow - one of Colossseo’s flagship installations - is hosting another major European sporting event - The 2016 EHF European Men's Handball Championship.
This is the first time this event is being held in Poland and alongside Tauron Arena in Krakow, three other Polish cities – Wroclaw, Katowice and Gdansk are also hosting the event.
Tauron Arena, Poland’s newest indoor arena, is an amazing facility featuring Europe’s largest outdoor media façade with 5.100 square meters of LED strip lighting, a 540 square meter screen over the main entrance and Colosseo’s latest third generation facial recognition biometric turnstiles.
Fans watching the match, both inside and outside the venue, enjoy an unparalleled game presentation on the Colosseo centre-hung video board that features HD replays, real time statistics and scores from all the matches being played at the championships. All video is controlled by the Colosseo Director 16HD which manages 16 separate feeds simultaneously.
The excitement is building in Kraków, Gdansk, Wroclaw and Katowice not only because it’s the European Championships, but also because handball in Poland has gained in popularity over the last few years.
There are 16 teams participating at the Men’s EHF EURO 2016: Poland, Serbia, France, France, Macedonia, Croatia, Iceland, Belarus, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Germany, Slovenia, Denmark, Hungary, Russia and Montenegro. The championship is held between the 15th and 31st of January and preliminary, main and final round matches will be played at Tauron Arena Krakow.
