José Adolfo Pineda National Gymnasium is an indoor sporting arena located in San Salvador, El Salvador. The capacity of the arena is 12,900 spectators. It is mainly used to host basketball and other indoor sporting events.
During the XXVI Central American and Caribbean Games San Salvador 2023, this modernized arena became one of the sports venues where this major international event took place. A key element of the modernisation was the extensive installation of Colosseo technology, which took the quality of the spectator experience to a whole new level.
The main feature that immediately catches the viewer’s eye is the double-sided center-hung COLOSSEO Vision LED video display of dimensions approx. 7.7 x 3.4m, complemented by a curved double-sided top ring. The entire display is assembled from custom-designed panels equipped with high-quality 16-bit color-processing LED chips with a high refresh rate and pixel pitch of 4mm.
The information area of the arena is enhanced by one side LED display of dimensions approx. 5.8 x 2.9m with a pixel pitch of 10mm, mounted inside the perimeter structure of the arena. The screen will generally be used mainly during basketball games as the main scoreboard or during other events as the supplemental display and/or information area.
The construction of the auditorium allowed the installation of two LED ribbons of 0.8m in height and different lengths, equipped with LED panels with a pixel pitch of 10mm.
